Airtel Mother’s Day Offer and ear bursting IVR

I have been a very loyal and high business generating customer of Airtel back at homw. But I am not sure about this.

I am definitely interested in numbers and if the numbers are big, then profiles too :P

The other thing I am unsure about is Airtel’s CallHome (USA to India) service.
I used to think that Reliance needs to tone down the voice of IVR till I heard Airtel’s espresso shot generated enthusiasm IVR voice.
That day onwards Reliance’s voice started feeling like pure music to ears.
Till Reliance sniffed competition from its rival and decided enthusiasm was the key and now they have double espresso shot gulped down female blaring and welcoming us on the phone.

Someone please stop them.

Agree fully… the reliance IVR “Please enter the number you wish to call starting with country code 91. It is not required to dial the international access number.” so sounded so good a few days ago ….
now it appears that they’ve subtituted the good one with a low cose high pitch stupid voice….

I completely agree – the booming voice is almost creepy..however the rest of their IVR is good – its great to do the payment and get done in a minute!

Also, point to be noted is no one takes advantage of acquired knowledge. Acquired knowledge of the messages which are going to be followed that is. I don’t need to be thanked every time I make a selection, I don’t need to know their website’s URL after every 20 seconds and I don’t need to know how happy I have made them by calling them.

At least, not when I am calling them 50th time. They should handle new and repeat customers separately. There should also be abridged and full flowery versions of the IVR. I am not talking from frustration’s point of view but usability’s point of view.

Why club features when no one is gonna use them?
